Meals on Wheels delivers around 400 meals a day to senior citizens in the community. Each meal contains protein, vegetables, fruits, milk and basic nutritional needs especially designed for seniors.

Meals on Wheels serves 52 communities in the Rapid City area.

520 volunteers

Meals on Wheels needs 520 volunteers a month to deliver the meals along the various routes.

26 routes

Meals on Wheels serves seniors along 26 different routes, each route taking between 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

13 new volunteers

Meals on Wheels adds around four new seniors to their routes every week, which means they have had to add additional routes to ensure that existing volunteers do not get overwhelmed by the number of stops. The organization is looking for 13 new volunteers to deliver meals along the new routes.
