Rollover auction benefitting Halverson Family to be held March 25

Cattle grazing in field

BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. — On March 6, South Dakota Stockgrowers Association Executive Director James Halverson and his wife, Jessica, lost their home and outbuildings to the Rifle Pit Fire between Sundance and Beulah, Wyoming.

A rollover auction to benefit the Halverson Family will be held on Thursday, March 25 at the Belle Fourche Livestock Auction house.

Vaughn Meyer, owner of Sodak Angus and a Stockgrowers Association member, has donated a steer to be sold.

All are welcome to participate, either in-person or via phone bidding.

In a rollover auction, the donated animal is put up for auction, purchased, re-donated, and then purchased again. This is done over and over until there are no more bids to be taken. Once this process is over, the cow and calf will then be sold at auction.

All of the proceeds from each sale and the final auction will go to benefit the Halversons.

For additional information on the event, or to bid, please call (605) 430-4372, (605) 255-4262, or (307) 281-0313.
