FORT WORTH, TX – The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Awards Banquet was held Wednesday night in Fort Worth, Texas and it was an outstanding evening for South Dakota.
Rodeo Rapid City
Rodeo Rapid City was named the 2020 PRCA Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year. Rodeo Rapid City has been nominated for this award 19 times, winning it twice previously in 2002 and 2003.
Days of ’76 Rodeo
The Days of ’76 Rodeo in Deadwood received the award for Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year in the PRCA. From 2004 to 2017, the Days of ’76 was named the Medium Rodeo of the Year. Prior to that, the rodeo took home Small Rodeo of the Year awards four times. But this is the first time that the historic celebration has ever won the Large Outdoor Rodeo category. The Days of ’76 is the first rodeo in the history of the PRCA to win the small, medium and large outdoor rodeo of the year awards and be inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame.
Black Hills Roundup Rodeo
The Black Hills Roundup in Belle Fourche was also honored on Wednesday. For the third year in a row, the Black Hills Roundup was named the PRCA Medium Rodeo of the Year. The PRCA Awards Banquet is held each year the night before the start of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
